Art & Design Technology

Art & Design Technology are important elements in the school programme and lessons are approached in a lively and varied ways to ignite children’s imagination.

From Year 1 teaching of Art is based in a dedicated, modern and spacious Art Room where pupils are introduced to many forms and styles of artistic expression, including drawing, painting, collage, screen printing and clay modelling. Pupils can also receive additional expert tuition during one of the Art clubs.

The problem-solving approach to Design Technology encouraged during lessons helps to develop independent thinking and creativity. Pupils also learn to appreciate the enjoyment gained from achieving high standards of craftsmanship.
