Promenade Concert

A huge thank you to Mr Biggs and the Music Department for treating us to a fantastic Promenade Concert at the end of the Lent Term.

On the night the audience enjoyed performances by Eversfield’s percussion group Beat It; Junior and Senior Guitar groups; Wind Band; Junior, Senior and Chamber Choirs; String Orchestra; Eversfield Festival Chorus, consisting of the Eversfield Community Singers and Chamber Choir; and Swing Band. Further items in the programme included a piano duet by Aiden in Form 3 and Mr Biggs, a display of Scottish Dancing by pupils from Form 6 and an appearance by what has been referred to as The Boy Band as Mr Biggs, Mr Leonard, Mr Poultney and Mr Robbins delivered a rendition of I’m On My Way by The Proclaimers.

The programme included a wide assortment of pieces from across the British Isles including Scottish and Welsh traditional pieces, English folk dances, and classical pieces by Handel and Elgar. The Chamber Choir even sang Myfanwy by Parry in Welsh. The evening concluded with the audience and performers joining together to sing Jerusalem, a rousing rendition of Land of Hope and Glory and much flag waving.

The evening proved to be a wonderful festival of British music leaving everybody in a celebratory mood.
