Rounders Reunion Returns
It was wonderful to be able to welcome back our 2021 Year 6 leavers and their families this week and revive the traditional Past Pupils v Year 6 Rounders Match fixture. It was greatly enjoyed by all as old house rivalries were invoked and news shared about life after Eversfield.
The two match fixture pits the 2021 Form 6 cohort (current year 7s) against the current Form 6 cohort. Form 6 Angles take on Form 7 Saxons, and Form 6 Saxons and Form 7 Angles do battle.
To keep everyone playing and the match flowing, if a person is ‘out’ they are allowed to ‘bat on’ but lose one whole rounder for their team. This makes for some interesting scoring. In both matches the current Form 6 pupils out-scored their older counter parts by 25 and a half runs to 20. Sadly, once the ‘outs’ were taken into account the complexion of the score changes dramatically. The Year 7 team had a final score of 5, compared to the Form 6 score of minus 32 and a half!
After the match everyone enjoyed tea and refreshments and the Form 7 pupils received a memento of the fixture. It is always a pleasure to hear from our Alumni and discover the direction life has taken them and we hope they will all continue to keep in touch.
