A Stellar Camp

With Solihull’s night skies shrouded by the cloud cover the jewels of the autumn night sky eluded our budding astronomers taking part in this year's Space Camp however the power of technology prevailed. Using SkyView, the augmented reality app, the star gazers discovered the different constellations, planets and stars in the night sky. Read more

Winners Unveiled of Engineering Design Challenge 2023

All the teams involved in the year 6 Engineer Design Challenge 2023 to design and manufacture a battery-operated car displayed tremendous teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills. They started their six week challenge learning the difference between an artistic drawing of an object and a technical design. Read more

Wild Encounters

The sun shone brightly for Form 2 on their visit to West Midlands Safari Park to see some of the world's most beautiful and endangered animal species. From African plains to micro-habitats the children learned what the perfect conditions are for different animals to thrive. Read more

Busy Buzzy Bees at Botanical Gardens

Birmingham's historic botanical gardens provided a unique starting point to Form 3's investigations this term into plants and the critical role they play in the Earth's ecosystem. They embarked on a scavenger hunt around the gardens and tropical houses discovering interesting facts about the various plants and their unique growing habitats. Read more

Super Scientists Battle at National Science Quiz

Two Eversfield Science Quiz teams competed today in the National Science Quiz Inter-school Heats. The quiz was a tense battle with questions beyond the knowledge of the National Curriculum but the children took the challenge in their stride and battled it out. Read more

Jewels of the Night at Space Camp

There was great anticipation for Space Camp and this year’s expedition to the depths of outer space did not disappoint Form 5. There was no mistaking the grandest planet of them all, Jupiter, visible to the naked eye as it broke through the partial cloud cover to dazzle over Solihull’s night skies. Read more

Skyscraper City British Science Week

To mark British Science Week, Mrs Sliney worked with the children to see ‘Who can build the tallest tower?’ Kicking off the week-long programme Reception called on the aid of their Year 6 buddies to assist with their construction challenge. Kindergarten and Nursery drafted in assistance from Form 5. Read more
