Wildlife and Habitats

As part of the Reception class ‘Minibeasts Topic’, the children headed out to The Parkridge Centre at the heart of Brueton Park, Solihull – an oasis for wildlife.

The children thoroughly enjoyed being able to learn in an entirely different way from being in the classroom and discovering more about the habitats and lifecycle of minibeasts in the woodland area and meadow. There was also time to create homes for hedgehogs under the trees and to learn how we can help them survive in our own gardens at home.

For many the opportunity to travel on the School minibus was a real adventure and they enjoyed the simplicity of having their snack at the visitor centre while connecting with the great outside world.
