A Big Bite of Maths
Maths you can sink your teeth into! Form 5 have been testing the truth behind geometry today. To prove the formula for working out the area of a triangle, A = ½ (b x h), Mrs Buxton took a delicious detour into sandwich-making.
By slicing rectangles diagonally, they saw the theory in action: two identical triangles, one perfect rectangle (and zero crusts left behind after the taste test)!
