Joining the Fight Against Motor Neurone Disease
Today we joined the fight against Motor Neurone Disease alongside the Matt Gallagher Foundation. This year our School Council will be working to help raise awareness of the work of the charity and its mission to make a meaningful positive impact of the lives of individuals and their families affected by Motor Neurone Disease in the West Midlands.
Matt Gallagher, a former rugby player, was diagnosed with MND in October 2023. His son Jack, who was a pupil at Eversfield, joined us in assembly today to launch our fundraising programme. MND is a progressive and fatal condition that impacts the brain and spinal cord. Every day, 6 people are diagnosed, and 6 people die. There is currently no cure.
Thank you Matt, Lisa, Jack, Hollie Mae and Laverne for joining us today. Throughout the year we will be raising funds to help the charity provide essential support to those in the region on their MND journey.
