Honouring a Major Milestone for Dr Robert Yates

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news. Our headmaster, Robert Yates, has officially completed his Doctor of Education (EdD).

As the highest level of education qualification you can earn, it takes years of immense dedication, hard work and research to achieve.
True to his passion for education, Dr Yates focused his doctoral research on a topic that sits at the very heart of what makes a school successful: community and belonging.

Specifically, his thesis entitled From Autonomy to Alignment: Organisational Identity and Identification in English Multi-Academy Trusts, looked at the Government’s move towards larger Multi-Academy Trusts and how schools across England adapt when they join larger, centralised school networks. His study found something that we value deeply here at Eversfield: while being part of a larger network brings great opportunities, a school truly flourishes when it keeps its unique personality, culture and community values. His research highlights that the best schools are built on trust, giving staff a strong voice in decision-making, and protecting the identity and close-knit community spirit that helps our children thrive every single day.

We are incredibly proud to have a headmaster who is not only dedicated to leading our school but is also actively contributing valuable insights that guide school leaders, governors and policymakers across the country.

Please join us in congratulating Dr Yates on this major milestone next time you see him at the school gates.
