International Collaboration Boosts Literacy Links
This week we hosted a delegation of teachers from Klaipeda Lyceum, a high-performing independent school in Lithuania. This visit marks the beginning of an exciting collaborative partnership between our two schools.
The primary focus of the visit was the pedagogy of reading. While formal schooling in Lithuania typically begins at age seven, Klaipeda Lyceum enrols children as young as 18 months and our guests were particularly interested in how we facilitate such rapid literacy progress in our younger pupils. Throughout the week, the visiting staff observed lessons and met with our leadership team to discuss teaching strategies and assessment methods.
We are incredibly proud to showcase our pupils' hard work and the excellence of our teaching staff on an international stage. We look forward to the continued benefits this partnership will bring to our school community.
