Radio 3 Spotlight on Talented Artist-Composer Mrs Merricks-Spall
Many of the pupils will already know Sarah Merricks-Spall, who is one of our talented peripatetic music teachers. Not only does Sarah teach piano and run the Creative Composers lunchtime club, she also loves to compose and perform her own music.
Sarah released an album in October of her compositions for solo piano titled ‘Memories and Homecomings’. Three of her pieces were recently broadcast on the newly launched BBC Radio 3 Unwind, a new 24/7 stream which champions music by living composers, with a particular focus on emerging artist-composers from the UK. We are absolutely thrilled for Sarah to have her music broadcast by the BBC and shared with a wider audience.
