Using Our Power for Good
As part of Anti-Bullying Week, our children have been exploring the theme of using their 'Power for Good'.
The week began with our fabulous Peer Mentors leading a thoughtful and inspiring assembly on how we can all take action against bullying and use our voices to stand-up and make a positive difference. To celebrate what makes each of us unique, everyone took part in Odd Socks Day on Monday and throughout the week pupils learned what bullying is, how it can make people feel, and discussed the important role everyone plays in helping to stop it. They also explored how to speak out if they see someone being bullied and how small acts of kindness can help others feel included.
Classes created their own Kindness Agreements, our Peer Mentors read stories about kindness to our Kindergarten and Nursery children, and as a wonderful reminder of the power of kindness within our school community, the children all contributed to a beautiful Kindness Paper Chain by writing kind words, compliments and the names of people they love on the chain links.
