Music Room

The Music Department at Eversfield is thriving and housed in a purpose-built Music Room with acoustic ceiling. It is in constant use for weekly class lessons for all children from Nursery age through to Form 6.

At lunchtime, before and after school it provides a venue for the school’s choirs, music groups and ensembles to rehearse, as well as providing an intimate venue for our series of small informal concerts, known as Musical Moments, which run throughout the term and give children additional performance experience.

Equipped with Apple Macs running Sibelius and Garageband software, resources in the Music Room improve children’s notation and composition skills. The interactive whiteboard and iPads are regularly used to enhance teaching and learning as well as the school’s supply of musical instruments including keyboards, xylophones, harmonicas and many other percussion instruments.

The Director of Music works together with a team of peripatetic teachers offering a wide range of instrumentation and pupils achieve a high standard of playing. Each year we prepare children for the Associated Board and Trinity Guildhall Music examinations as well as preparing Form 6 candidates for music scholarship auditions.

Individual music lessons take place in the Music Room as well as in the Music Practice Rooms housed in the Upper School building.
