School Life
Pre-Prep ages 5 to 7
The Pre-Preparatory Department
(Key Stage 1, ages 5-7)
Teachers ensure pupils gain a thorough grounding in reading, writing and number skills in the Pre-Preparatory Department. They also study History, Geography, Religious Studies and Science as part of their topic work.
The department occupies a self-contained building with its own classrooms and facilities for pupils in Years 1 & 2, and pupils are also able to benefit from all the facilities of the Upper School.
A qualified and experienced teacher supervises each form, with a team of teaching assistants providing valuable support in the classroom.
PE & Games, French, Computing, Music, Art and other creative activities are included in the timetable as part of the full and balanced curriculum.
Children in this department receive an appropriate amount of daily homework based on their literacy/numeracy lessons or topic work.
Pride in the school, respect for others, and a healthy balance between co-operation and competition are all encouraged.
