Hip Hip Hooray

This afternoon our whole school community enjoyed a celebration picnic to mark the the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. It was a wonderful start to a special weekend of national celebrations.

Throughout the school this week the children have been enjoying coronation-themed lessons from learning about the 7th century origins of the English monarchy to creating bejewelled crowns, decorating coronation cupcakes and painting portraits of King Charles inspired by the unmistakable style of Andy Warhol.

Thanks to Jenny in our wonderful kitchen team our dining room has been decked out with crown jewels and colourful coronation creations, and she has received over 110 entries to the Colour the Crown Competition.  With prizes on offer for each year group, the winners will be announced next week.
