On Track at Silverstone
Form 6 headed out to Silverstone this week to discover the science, stories and stars behind British motor racing. They took part in a workshop to explore the technology, design and science of race cars which was great preparation for this term’s engineering challenge to build their own cars.
They enjoyed learning about the history of Silverstone, careers in motor racing and lots of activities in the tech lab to learn more about car parts. Their visit coincided with a testing day of some touring cars so they also witnessed some exhilarating live racing and even got to line up on the grid and test their own driving skills on the Silverstone Formula 1 Scalextric Circuit. Mrs Sliney went head to head with Mr Robbins and chalked up her Formula 1 win!
