Treasure Trove of Medieval History

Form 4 embarked on a journey through time as they visited Worcester Cathedral to delve into the rich tapestry of its medieval past. Their adventures began with a rendezvous with none other than King John himself, who is buried inside the Cathedral. He was brought to life by a costumed member of the Cathedral’s education team and, through lively storytelling, the children learned about the reign of this controversial monarch and the pivotal role he played in English history with the signing of the Magna Carta.

The children also investigated the development of monasteries in the region, working together to create a giant map of the area surrounding Worcester and uncovering the important role these religious institutions played in shaping medieval society. Later, everyone had the chance to create their own gargoyle out of clay.
