Showing Compassion for Others at Christmas

Ordinarily at this time of year our school choirs would enjoy visiting care homes and singing for the residents. Due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic this has been forbidden this year, but Ms Leonard-Cross has been speaking with the children about ways they could show compassion to others this Christmas, and the idea of crafting a personal good wish message to send in Christmas cards to elderly residents in the community was born.

The children have written some beautiful messages inside their hand-crafted cards which show such compassion and empathy for others. The cards will be hand-delivered this week by Ms Leonard-Cross to 3 care homes locally: Longmore Nursing Home, St Bernard’s Residential Care Home and The Royal Star and Garter in Monkspath.

The children have shown how a small effort from us all can give so much joy to others.
