House Matches' Highlights

In glorious sunshine, the Angles and Saxons have been doing battle on the netball court and football pitch all this week.

The Junior Netball Cup rested on the result of one match. The Form 3 children fought a tight game, with the Angles scoring the only goal of the match to win 1-0. The Senior Netball Cup was a little more open. The Form 6 children started with a 9-5 Saxon win but the Form 4 Angle netballers cantered to an 8-1 win. With one win each, the destination of the cup rested with the final match. Form 5 Angles produced another tremendous display to win 8-1 and take the Senior House Netball trophy.

Form 3 kicked off the Junior House Football Cup which left Angles holding a 3-0 advantage, but Form 2 put the pressure on securing a draw and two wins to secure the cup.

In the Senior House Football Cup Form 6 got proceedings under way with the Angles making their pressure pay and winning 3-0. Form 4 were next, with the Saxons knowing that they needed a win to stay in the competition. They did not disappoint, with an emphatic 12-0 win. One win a piece, but the Saxons were carrying a massive advantage in goal difference. Angles needed to win the final game, Saxons could draw and still take the cup on goal difference. Going into the final minute of the game, Angles were up 3-2. A break by the Saxons, saw them clinch the goal they needed to draw the game. The goal was celebrated greatly by Saxons, with the Angle team flopping to the floor in disbelief. 3-3 was the final score and with one of the last kicks of the season, the Saxons won the Senior House Football Cup.
