Little Fingers: The Joy of Music Making
Designed specifically for children in Form 1, ‘Little Fingers’ is a new addition to the extra-curricular programme launched by the Music Department. The six-week course offers a short introduction to learning to play the piano and the joys of music making.
Delivered by Mrs Hastings it is a hands-on, practical course, specifically tailored for novice players and introduces the children to basic keyboard skills such as note names and values, finger positions, pitch and rhythm and following a score. This is an initial introduction to playing an instrument for children in Form 1, they are able to select from a wide range of instruments and voice from Form 2 onwards. It has been a fantastic way for the children to experience musical performance and have an outlet for musical creativity.
